Bits & Pieces

"Rooted Together"
The huge redwood trees in California are considered the largest things on earth and the tallest trees in the world. Some of them are three hundred feet high and over 2500 years old. One would think that trees so large would have a tremendous root system reaching down hundreds of feet into the earth. The redwoods actually have a very shallow system of roots, but they all intertwine. They are locked to each other. When the storms come or the winds blow, the redwoods stand. They are locked to each other, and they don't stand alone, for all the trees support and protect each other.

"Sausage Cheese Balls"
These special sausage balls are a huge hit at any summer party. Serve them up with marinara sauce, barbeque sauce, or chili sauce. I have to thank one of my wife's best friends, Lorrie in Arkansas, for this recipe. "Thanks Lorrie...!!!"
Ingredients
* 3 cups Bisquick mix, Original
* 1 lb. pork sausage, uncooked, bulk
* 1 small onion, chopped fine
* 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
* 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 teaspoon rosemary leaves, dried
* 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
Preparation
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 10x15 cookie pan, or two smaller pans.
Stir together ingredients using hands. Shape and form mixture into small bite sized balls (about 1" diameter). Place in pan, bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Serve immediately with sauce of your choice, or freeze immediately and microwave to reheat. Makes about 6 dozen sausage balls.
Ummmm, Ummmm....!!!!!
